SERVICE DELIVERY AGREEMENTS
In July the Government
published the results of the 2000 Spending Review allocating the resources
and setting the targets to provide opportunity and security for all.
At the centre of
the Governments programme of modernisation and reform for Britains
public services are the Public Service
Agreements (PSAs), setting out the aim and objectives
of every main government department, with measurable targets.
Now government departments,
both those with PSAs but also smaller departments, are publishing Service
Delivery Agreements (SDAs) explaining how they will deliver the high
level targets in the July PSAs, and how government will modernise and
reform itself to get better value for money in achieving them.
The Treasury has
published a short Guide to the SDAs as a White Paper, explaining the
common elements, and drawing out examples of the sorts of things departments
are doing under the various headings.
