74/01 28 June 2001 SUMMER SUPPLEMENTARY ESTIMATES AND SUMMARY SUPPLEMENTARY REQUEST FOR SUPPLY (SSRfS): 2001-02 Summer Supplementary Estimates as summarised in the SSRfS seeking £1,251 million in resources and £2,853 million in cash were presented to the House of Commons today. They seek increased resources and cash for existing services and Parliamentary authority, with necessary funding, for certain new services. These Estimates do not involve any change in total spending plans because any increases sought have either been offset by savings elsewhere in departmental programmes, charged to the Departmental Expenditure Limits (DEL) Reserve or represent shifts against the Annually Managed Expenditure (AME) Margin. Since the Reserve and the Margin are part of Total Managed Expenditure, the planned total of public expenditure remains unchanged. Within the overall increase noted there is a charge to the DEL Reserve of £1,540 million and an increase of £7 million in the departmental programmes within AME. |
